Registration for the 2019 Australian Bahá’í Choral Festival is now open!

 

In 2019, we celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Birth of the Báb, the Herald and Forerunner of Bahá’u’lláh. The Australian Bahá’í Choral Festival is honouring the occasion by highlighting an amazing set of new songs based on the Báb’s writings.

 

The Festival will be held in Sydney from 5-8 September 2019. It culminates in two concerts (at 11:00 and at 1:30) in the Bahá'í House of Worship on Sunday, 8 September.  To get a taste for the Festival, starting with what last year’s participants had to say about the experience, click this link: https://tinyurl.com/y47tgcrz.

 

The only requirement is that you love to sing! You don’t need to audition, you don’t need to read music, and you don’t need previous experience in a choir. We provide sound recordings along with printed music to help you learn your parts. We welcome all singers who want to participate in this Bahá’í-inspired event and are willing to put in the work to prepare.

 

If you register before 21 May, early bird registration will be only $150 (plus a bit for the registration website company); after that it will go up to the full price of $165. Since the Festival receives no outside funding, the registration fee covers food, transportation, venues, and a few other necessities. The organisers receive no payment for their services. Registration will close in early August or when we reach our maximum capacity.

 

Give yourself a jump start on your preparations by registering early. If you can’t register right away, but wish to start learning the music, please write us and we’ll get you started. If you don’t think you can afford the fee, please contact us; scholarships and other arrangements are always available.
