Mission Statement

The mission of the Temple Choir is to recite the Tablets of the All-Merciful in the alcoves within the Mashriqu’l-Adhkár [Temple] with radiance and joy, and in most melodious tones.  The Choir will endeavour to sing with the utmost purity and consecration, so that from the site of the Temple itself, one will inhale the fragrant breathings of the Holy Spirit.

As members of the Choir, we strive to be transported by the rapture born of our individual adoration of the Almighty so that we may recite the verses of God in such wise as to captivate the hearts of those yet wrapped in slumber.

We believe that by striving towards the following core, as a collective, we will achieve our mission:

• Love, Encouragement and Joy: We sing for the love of it and as an expression of our love for our Creator.  With love at the core, we will strive to encourage each other with a supportive and inclusive attitude whereby everyone feels they can sing freely.  Doing this cultivates a joyful environment.

• Discipline, Commitment and Excellence: we acknowledge that excellence is an attribute of God and we strive to excel in this collective endeavour.  This requires discipline and commitment to continually strive to learn, practice and improve our collective sound.

• Purity and Humility: we acknowledge that it is the power of the Creative Word of God that can unlock the hearts of men. The Choir will strive to be a pure channel for the Word of God.
